This is the largest painting (it's also a collage) I've so far exhibited. It's done on two of those bread trays they deliver sliced pans to shops on, chained together so one hangs below the other. I glued most of a 1980's porno-mag onto them and applied my Stamp-Cell technique to partly mask the lewdity underneath, and also to draw attention to the self-same lewdity.
Here's the back of the top half. I ended up putting stronger chains than these on.
..and this here is a close up shot of 'Hot Beans'. I used the dvd cover of a bongo movie called 'Craving Cum'- what do you mean you haven't heard of it? It's a classic of it's genre!
I haven't seen it myself actually, I found the sleeve in a hedge (they're always in hedges!) and took it to my studio to assimilate it into my oeuvre.
..it certainly looks like they're a talented ensemble, n'est pas?(!)
Anyway, Art and Porn.. Porn and Art- what are the correlations? well, there are many, one of them is the whole timelessness thing- a photo (or a video) of someone doing something sexy will possibly outlive the person themselves- thus their sexiness lives on in a state of suspended animation, as does the soul of the artist who created a work of art.
Also: sexy vs. beautiful- what's the difference? you could say a fish is beautiful but is it sexy? I was window shopping in a sex shop in Paris many moons ago and was slightly taken aback when I spotted the front cover of a magazine devoted to people interested in engaging in sexual relations with fish. Seriously. Anyway enjoy the show! (click on the images to view them better)
